West Cheshire College – It’s in the blood

September 18th, 2017

Ruth Pollard, local Dee Radio presenter and former West Cheshire College student knows first-hand the benefits and opportunities College-life can bring to students. Since leaving over three years ago, Ruth, a talented singer / songwriter now hosts her very own show on Dee Radio and has done for some time.

Ruth commented: “The tutors at West Cheshire College are immensely supportive and the opportunities are so vast that if you are willing to work hard it can be a massive stepping stone on your career journey. I had a fantastic time there.”

It now appears to be running in the blood, as like mother, like daughter, Tomisha Pollard-Roye, Ruth’s daughter is following in her mum’s footsteps and starting a course in fashion at the College later this month.

Ruth said: “Having been a student at the College and finding it so rewarding, I was delighted when Tomisha decided to enrol on a fashion course this year. It will be a great starting point for her and inevitably allow her to find the specific area of fashion she loves to pursue a career in.”

Tomisha also commented: “I know how valuable studying at West Cheshire College was to Mum, and how it can open up doors to provide opportunities. I haven’t settled into previous academic courses and places of study so I’m really excited about my time ahead at West Cheshire College.

“Fashion has always been a passion of mine. At this point, I’m not sure what route it will take me down for my future career, but I’m looking forward to discovering the areas I enjoy the most and I can’t wait to start the course now.”

Whether you are a school leaver or are looking for a new career path, to go onto university, to start an apprenticeship or progress to Higher Education, places are still available at West Cheshire College.
