Applying for College

How can I find out more information about courses?

You can attend one of our open events throughout the year. This gives you the chance to meet our staff and ask questions about subject areas and College life. Our staff will provide you with clear and impartial advice. Click here to see when our next Open Evening will take place.

How do I apply for College?

Once you’ve chosen your course, click the ‘Apply Now’ button. Depending on the course you’ve selected, you will either be able to enrol or apply online.

When can I enrol on a course?

It depends on which course you’re interested in. For many part time or short courses, you can enrol all year around. Full time courses usually begin enrolment on GCSE results day. For more detailed information, contact our Admissions department.

I’ve applied to College – what happens next?

If you’ve applied for a full-time course, you should receive an acknowledgement within 24 hours. You’ll be invited to come along to a guidance interview. If you have not received an acknowledgement within one week, please contact our Admission department on 01244 656555 or 01270 654654.

When will I hear about my interview?

Guidance evenings are held monthly from October to August, you will be invited to an interview within 1 month of submitting your application. Your invite will be sent out by post.

I forgot to go to my interview, what should I do?

Contact the Admissions Team (contact details will be on your letter) and they will rearrange the interview for you.

How do I get to the College?

There is free transport available for all 16-18 year olds, please visit our Transport page for more information.

Can I get help with a bus pass and course equipment?

What do I need to bring to my interview?

If you are a school leaver you will need to bring your most recent school report school report. Some courses will ask you to bring other specific items; these will be mentioned in your ‘invitation to interview’ letter.

I’ve accepted my offer, what happens next?

You will receive regular communications over the summer period, which will include information on when to enrol and when your course starts. You can call us any time if you’re unsure of anything.

I’ve changed my mind on the course I’ve accepted. I want to do something else

Not a problem. We can help you find an alternative course that’s more suited to what you want to do, just call the admissions department on 01244656555 or 01270 654654.

What financial support can I receive whilst I’m at College?

Depending on your circumstances you may be eligible for financial support for travel, materials and other course-related costs. Find out more about funding on our Money Matters page.
