Tony Walker - Trainer / Assessor in Motor Vehicle
The route to my career started when I joined the college as a Motor Vehicle Apprentice L2 &L3. I enjoyed my time at the college and after spending time in my own family run garage decided to return to the college as a Technician. This gave me the opportunity to expend my knowledge and skills. Not long after I returned to college teaching hours were offered to me and I took the next step in my college career. When a full-time teaching position became available I applied and was successful.
I’ve now been with the College for over six years and in that time studied Chartered Management Level 5 and Cert Ed L4 & L5 which were both funded by the College.
My current role of Trainer / Assessor in Motor Vehicle consists of keeping in touch with Motor Vehicle employers in the area and making sure that our Apprentices have everything that they need and providing help when they need it. I also support new assessors, teachers and the wider college team.
I find working at the College to be very rewarding I enjoy meeting the new students and seeing them leave the college with an exciting new career. Many of our alumni keep in touch, it’s always really great to hear how well they are thriving in their chosen careers.
