Dean of Higher Education

Moyra graduated with a BA Honours in English Literature and French in 1995. With an interest in social welfare, Moyra made a career in advice and advocacy work, specialising in Social Security Law where she represented clients at social security and housing tribunals. She later moved into the education sector and has worked in both higher and further education.

Moyra worked initially at a local university where she ran the student advice service before moving to South Cheshire College in 1997. Initially this was to develop the advice service for students and staff on any welfare based issue as well as managing hardship funds and bursaries. Whilst working, Moyra returned to university as a part time student and achieved a CPE/GDL in Law, PGCE and LLM in family and child law. Moyra moved into a dual role at the college where she taught on a variety of law courses and coordinated the college’s equality and diversity strategy.

A firm supporter of lifelong learning, Moyra continues to study and is currently working on a PhD in Child Law.
