Assistant Director - Travel, Sport, Public Services and Community Leisure

Geoff has worked in FE for 14 years, with a previous career in corporate rescue and recovery. He completed a BA in Business and Management and MA in Leadership and Management. Geoff joined South Cheshire College in 2001 following a year of teaching at Hugh Baird College.

Geoff has experience of management of college apprenticeship contracts with both Royal Engineers and the RAF and he has also served as Quality and Training Manager of the LSIS Functional Skills Support Programme.

He has extensive experience as both an examiner and expert question writer for both accountancy and business examination boards. His current job role is the management of the college’s Public Services, Sport and Travel and Tourism programmes with additional responsibility for the Community Leisure provision. Geoff’s vision is to provide an environment in which every student is able to realise their full potential by receiving excellent teaching and learning, experiencing the world of work and challenging their own preconceptions.

Geoff oversees the college Sports Academy teams, which achieve excellent results and provide an opportunity for all students to participate in competitive sport. Geoff continues to build on the excellent relationships with regional and national sporting bodies. The college has outstanding leisure facilities and Geoff is keen to extend access to the local community in order to promote health and wellbeing.
