This is a 1 year programme (Sept-June) provided by the University of Wolverhampton (subject to validation) and delivered at CCSW (Ellesmere Port).
The course provides an opportunity to explore advanced technical skills, management and design from within a Production Company and to work with clients and practitioners from within industry. It provides students with the resources, skills and contacts from which they can go onto build their own businesses, freelance careers or find a way directly into a permanent job within the industry.
All modules will be assessed through written assignments, Production Work and independent study. There is no final examination.
The programme consists of 5 modules – Professional Project (Dissertation), Advanced Technical Skills, Installation Contemporary Perspectives, Independent Producer and a three week intensive module titled; Contemporary Contexts.
The course requires students to have achieved 240 credits at level 4 and 5 e.g. HNC and HND in Performing Arts, with modules in the related subject area (other level 5 qualifications will be considered on an individual basis).
Final student approval to be admitted to the programme by the University of Wolverhampton will be required before beginning the course. Please note this programme is subject to validation by the University of Wolverhampton.
Students successfully completing the programme can go directly into employment within the Theatre or Events industry or study a Level 7 qualification (Master’s Degree).
Other options are available for students who’s individual pathway might take them on a different route e.g. into teaching or other area of the entertainment industry.
