This course is ideal if you’re serious about pursuing a career in bakery and pastry. You’ll learn how to create impressive dessert dishes and will include skills in bread-making and pastry. Our experienced chefs will help you to expand your skills to the level that the industry demands. As part of your vocational training you’ll work in the College’s kitchens where the dishes you create will be served to paying customers. You’ll also gain experience by providing the catering at high-profile corporate events.
Four GCSE’s at Grade 3 (D) or above including Maths and English. Level 2 students who do not achieve a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will study a GCSE in the subject(s) as part of their study programme.
The course will give you the skills to enter the food industry at Assistant Pastry Chef level or progress on to a Level 3 course in pastry and confectionery.
