You will learn in real work environments to ensure you’re fully prepared to enter the Automotive Engineering Industry. You’ll develop your higher-level skills in the following areas: vehicle maintenance and repair, diagnosing and rectifying faults using test equipment and Snap-on Verus and Pico 4-channel scope diagnostic equipment, removing and replacing vehicle components, chassis systems, electrical systems, engines and transmission - building on the knowledge you gained at Level 2.
Five GCSE’s at Grade 4 (C) or above including Maths and English. Level 3 students who do not achieve a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will study a GCSE in the subject(s) as part of their study programme.
The course will give you what you need to go straight into work or move onto a Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship. On completion of this course Technicians working in an automotive engineering environment can apply to become a Vehicle Tester, after completing a VOSA course.
