The IMI Technical Diploma is one of the most comprehensive motor vehicle learning programmes available. This internationally recognised qualification provides a standardised approach to the delivery and assessment of the underpinning knowledge requirements of NVQs/SVQs endorsed by the Motor Industry Sector Skills Council (SSC). Areas that are covered by underpinning knowledge and workshop based learning include: chassis technology, engine technology, transmission systems, electrical and electronic technology and general aspects e.g. health and safety, legal aspects ad organisational requirements.
All the practical skills that you will learn on this course are taught in our fully equipped workshop which mirrors a professional car dealership service area.
Four GCSEs at Grade 3 (D) or above including Maths and English. Level 2 students who do not achieve a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will study a GCSE in the subject(s) as part of their study programme.
Following completion of the Level 2 students have the option to:
1) Progress to a Level 3 course in Motor Vehicle Maintenance, or
2) Enter the Motor Vehicle Trade.
A Level 2 qualification is generally considered to be the minimum level acceptable to the trade.
