Introduction to Early Years Education and Care Certificate – Level 2 – CACHE


If you want a rewarding career in childcare at assistant level then this course will give you the skills that employers require. This is a practical course which provides you with the opportunity to develop and extend your knowledge and gain experience by working a minimum of 300 hours in the workplace, helping you develop your caring skills. The course ensures you will learn best practice in key areas including supporting children, keeping children safe, promoting a healthy environment and children’s development. You will also study English and maths in order for you to upgrade your skills. There are also opportunities to develop teamworking and employability skills.

Four GCSE’s at Grade 3 (D) or above including Maths and English. Level 2 students who do not achieve a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will study a GCSE in the subject(s) as part of their study programme.

On completion of the course you could progress to an Apprenticeship or on to the Level 3 course.
