Engineering Technology Diploma – Level 2 – EMTA


The BTEC Level 2 Diploma is designed to prepare you for work within the engineering industries or to progress to the Level 3. It's a practical, work-related course with projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. It covers the basic knowledge and technical practical skills, providing a good foundation for future career or qualification opportunities.

This course also offers plumbing and electrical installation options for those intending or wishing to pursue a career in these industries.

Successful completion of this qualification will allow entry onto the electrical installation and plumbing courses the following year, subject to satisfactory attendance and performance.

Four GCSE’s at Grade 3 (D) or above including Maths and English. Level 2 students who do not achieve a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will study a GCSE in the subject(s) as part of their study programme.

On successful completion of this course, a student can progress to the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering, or into employment in the sector.
