This course is ideal if you wish to gain a professional qualification enabling you to work with children in day care centres, nurseries, infant schools or other related settings, or if you wish to progress in to Higher Education. You will learn about child development, communication, theories of learning, role play, personal development and teamwork.
Each week you will spend three days in College and two days on work placement in a relevant setting. The course prepares you to work unsupervised, or in a supervisory capacity, with children and their families in a variety of settings and environments within the children's services sector.
You will learn in dedicated classrooms and a range of childcare settings when on work placement and will include working with babies.
Five GCSE’s at Grade 4 (C) or above including Maths and English. Level 3 students who do not achieve a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will study a GCSE in the subject(s) as part of their study programme.
