his programme is designed to prepare students (who will normally have already completed a Level 3 course or who show exceptional creative ability) for progression to a broad range of Higher Education courses within the creative arts, design and related areas. Students also gain the vital experience and knowledge to make them employable upon completion of the course. The course is diagnostic and you will be encouraged to experiment and develop technical and creative skills through working on projects in different disciplines, using cutting-edge technology in our Arts Centre. You’ll have the opportunity to choose a specialist area, in which you will build up an individual portfolio of work, which will form the basis of a strong application for university or work. This will help you in applying for Higher Education courses or job opportunities in the following fields:
• 3D Design (including Furniture Design, Product Design, Glass, Ceramics and Jewellery)
• Fashion and Textiles
• Theatre, Stage Design and Wardrobe Studies
• Graphics, Illustration and Animation
• Fine Art
Five GCSE’s at Grade 4 (C) or above including Maths and English. Level 3 students who do not achieve a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will study a GCSE in the subject(s) as part of their study programme.
