The Access to Higher Education Diploma is a level three qualification which prepares people without traditional qualifications for study at university. The course is structured to allow students to develop both knowledge of their subjects and the academic skills to progress to university. Every student will develop their academic study skills which will prepare them for study at higher education level. Your personal tutor will provide support and guidance throughout the programme and will encourage you to reflect on your progress, identify your strengths and areas to develop and will be there to help you to stay on track.
Our Education pathway is a challenging programme which develops in-depth understanding in the fields of educational theory and practice, childhood studies, and literature and language. You will develop an extensive understanding of this subject through a combination of theory and practical sessions, delivered and facilitated by highly knowledgeable and experienced teachers who understand the requirements of higher education and how to prepare you to progress there.
Students are expected to have achieved GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4. Applicants should also submit a piece of written work which summarises experiences to date and motivations for enrolling on an Access to HE Diploma (Education). All applicants are encouraged to research the entry requirements of the HE programmes you aspire to progress to, prior to your interview for the programme, to ensure they will accept an Access to HE Diploma and if they have any other requirements.
Attend one of our Open Evenings to find out more and meet our highly experienced team. You will be invited in for an interview to assess whether an Access to HE Diploma (Education) is the appropriate pathway for you.
